So what's the difference between Software Assurance and Testing?
The traditional view of testing is that it only ensures that the developed solution matches the engineering specification. And it typically happens towards the end of the development lifecycle. But what if the spec itself is wrong or out-dated - because the problem was not accurately captured, validated or verified to start with? Or, because changes to the original business requirements during the lifetime of the development have not been properly considered?
