What is Software Assurance?

Software Assurance is an independent, cohesive, integrated system to manage and control your IT development and its inherent risks. Our simple but effective processes are designed to proactively root out weaknesses or shortcomings in your new or changed system.

So what's the difference between Software Assurance and Testing?

The traditional view of testing is that it only ensures that the developed solution matches the engineering specification. And it typically happens towards the end of the development lifecycle.  But what if the spec itself is wrong or out-dated - because the problem was not accurately captured, validated or verified to start with?  Or, because changes to the original business requirements during the lifetime of the development have not been properly considered? Then, you have a mis-match and the problem, or business need, will never be satisfied.

Software Assurance, on the other hand, takes a holistic approach to your development. It 'assures' the quality of every element of the project from start to finish, through an integrated process of Validation and Verification. And the result is that you will KNOW that the delivered solution WILL satisfy your business need.
